ISL: Blasters challenge against Odisha

Odisha FC will face Kerala Blasters FC on Friday in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL). The Blasters will have to face the challenge at the Nehru Stadium. They will face the challenge of preventing a fall in performance.

The Blasters beat arch rival ATK early in the season. The Blasters have paved the way after this proud victory. They suffered a back-and-forth defeat against Mumbai City FC and Hyderabad FC. Now coach Elko Shattori will have to work hard to get the team back on the winning path at home.

The Blazers were outscored in 14 games after beating ATK in the opener last season. These unpleasant memories are still fresh. Shatori's team cannot afford to repeat such performances and they are in dire need of victory.

Odisha's form, on the other hand, is against the Blasters. They defeated Mumbai City 4-2 after two losses early in the season. Therefore, their mood is high before this match.

Now, they will try to improve their performance by taking advantage of the injury-ridden Blasters. While Mario Arquis and Gianni Zuiverlun are unlikely to be fit, the message has been announced before Xingan will leave for the full season.

"We wanted to win the previous match on a mental level," Shattori said. There were only three foreign players in the Hyderabad team. We had great opportunities. I reviewed our three matches. We gave 43 cross passes. How effective all of this was is a different question. Our wingers are not stagnant, but they are missing a key player in the middle plate. In the previous match, we lost it to Xaviarlun in defense. Keeping up the challenge is the key to this moment.

The most worrying thing for the Blasters is that star striker Bartholomew Ogbenche has not been able to create a lot of goals for them. Players like Sahal Abdul Samad are still adapting to Shatori's style.

"Our method of passing is football," said Shattori of the Netherlands. It takes a while. Sahel made a mistake in the previous match, but we did not lose due to him. I discussed it with Sahil. I'm very satisfied with this player.

Odisha may have some issues in this area. Zisco Hernandez has been an outstanding playmaker for Josep Gombau's team. His partnership with Ariadne Santana and Jerry Mahmingthanga looks promising. If Nandkumar Shekhar's momentum were to go along with it, a bitter test would have been created in front of the Blasters defense.

Gombeau seems confident. "Last season, we missed a lot of opportunities," he said. This time we have scored six goals in three games. This performance is the second after three fights. We have a lot of talented players in India. We are here with strong mindedness and we are absolutely sure that we can score three points.

The defense of Odisha is not even close. They could not maintain a clean sheet. They have scored six goals against them in three games. In the last ten minutes, goals have been scored against them. This is what has happened in all three matches. Curious as to whether the Blasters will take advantage of this weak link and stop their downfall. Winning will be crucial for both teams in a mind-blowing way before the international break.
